My philosophy as a player is centered around tasteful playing. My primary responsibility is to support the song. I would much rather lock in with the drummer and hang on the roots than play overly busy lines if there's no space for them. Every song and every situation is different, but I pride myself in always trying to make a song better, even if that means playing less.
Edward grew up in New York City with parents who supported all of his musical pursuits (even when he decided that playing drums sounded like fun). His musical career began in first grade with piano lessons, then drums in fifth grade, and finally bass in seventh grade. Having a background with piano and drums provided an ideal foundation to learn bass. Edward studied bass with Stefan Held, played in all of the jazz bands in high school, and gigged around New York with soul/funk band The Adam Morgan Band.
Edward studied Advertising at Boston University and spent one year performing with the Boston University Big Band, then graduated in 2012. Towards the end of college he decided to pursue music professionally and began playing with Matt Koelsch and a few other Boston-based artists.
Edward moved to Los Angeles in 2014 and has been performing and recording with a number of artists ever since. He is a member of the indie rock band Royce and is a co-founder of the YouTube channel Guest Room Sessions where he handles the audio side of recording live acoustic performances in the guest room in his apartment.
